Glenda Malina
Glenda Malina B.A. (Hons), M.A., R. Psych

    Professional Experience

  • Glenda Malina is a retired Staff Sergeant with the Edmonton Police Service, who completed a twenty-six year career as a police officer (1974-2000). During that time she has gained extensive experience in the areas criminal victimization including family violence involving spousal violence, child abuse, and elder abuse issues. She also has years of supervisory experience and an interest in organizational behavior and structure.
  • Her business experience includes holding a position on the City of Edmonton Assessment Review Board, a quasi-judicial board making decisions on Municipal property assessment. Her five year term (2000-2005) included three years as a member and the last two as the Chairman of the Board.
  • Glenda also has experience working as a compliance advisor with Standards and Evaluations Review Team with the office of the Solicitor General and Public Security (2005-2006).
  • She has also worked as an investigator for the Office of the Commissioner of Canada Elections (2004-2007) and the Office of the Alberta Chief Electoral Officer (2008).
  • Glenda works collaboratively with numerous other psychologists that are located in the same office building

    Personal Experiences and Interests

  • Glenda is a parent of three adult children; a daughter and two sons.
  • Interests include reading, walking, biking, and watching humorous movies.

    Qualifications

  • After retiring from the Edmonton Police Service, Glenda completed a Bachelor of Psychology through Athabasca University and a Master of Counselling through Campus Alberta, Glenda has been a registered Psychologist since 2008 - (Registraton #3349).
  • Glenda is a member in good standing with: The College of Alberta Psychologists, the Psychological Association of Alberta and the Canadian Psychological Association.

    Theoretical Orientation

  • Glenda predominately utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution Focused Therapies.
